Hi!
I am a career-driven 28 year old female. At 25 years old, I had major back surgery and healed completely with no problems. Since then, I have gained weight, attributing to my back pain, and at the doctor two days ago, I was given medication to control the pain.
I refuse to be on medication at such a young age. I am now 229.5 lbs. My goal weight is 170.
I have started a 12 week program for myself, weighing in once weekly, and tracking my meals and exercise through MFP.
My last weigh in will be November 30th, and my goal is 204.5. This goal=25 lbs lost.
I'm interested in finding friends who are similar in their goals - but also tall girls! I think it's important to team up with girls that are similar in height and weight.
But - any inspiration any of us can give to one another is a step in the right direction. Good luck ladies!

Feel free to friend me! I am 23, 5'9". Starting weight 207lbs, current 190lbs, goal 160lbs so we are definately in the same ballpark0

I'm 5'11" and hit a high point at 195lbs. I gained the weight gradually after tearing an ACL in 2007. The muscle loss in my quad combined with increase sitting time caused weight gain even once I rehabbed the knee.
Anyway I started counting calories and exercising at the end of May and have lost 22 lbs. My goal weight is 154 because I've heard that people with aggressive goals lose more weight (they may not achieve the goal). At 165lb I'm going to have my BF % tested.
Anyway you can totally do this! Your plan is totally achievable but challenging! Welcome.0 -
Feel free to add me! I'm 5'10 with a UGW of 170-175lbs. I started out at 234 so we have similar paths! Oh, and I'm also a 20-something0

One more thing - Take measurements and Before pictures! Nothing motivates me more that my pictures taken at the end of June compared with the end of July. 8lbs and 8 inches lost sound fine but the difference in bikini pictures is unreal - not enough that I've posted them but I might at the end of this month.0

You can add me I'm 5'10''. But I started at 171, I'm 154 now and my goal is 150. You can look through my diary and I have a facebook page with recipes facebook.com/NoPlaceLikeHomeCooking0

Welcome!!
I am 5'10" as well. My starting weight was 180 and now I am down to 145. I am small bone frame and have about 5 more lbs to go.
I agree with before and after pictures. I am amazed how much smaller I look compared to what I used to look like.0 -
5'10" here as well. I'm a little heavier, 242, but our goal is almost identical...174. Please add me as a friend, I'd love to keep track of your progress.
This is a great site. Great! You'll find so many supportive people here, such great information and the food and exercise logs are sheer genius. It's really opened my eyes to how much food I need on a daily basis, and how much exercise I should be doing as well.
Welcome!
If you'd like, check out the 6 week challenge for Halloween started by Elana. It's a gentle, yet slightly challenging push into Halloween. I signed up yesterday. She's got a google spreadsheet you can enter your start weight on. The title is "Halloween Challenge sign-up (challenge will begin 9/19/11)". Would love to see you there!0 -
We are almost exactly the same... 5' 10" here and now 222 hoping to get to the 170-180 range. I lost some on my own last spring but the loss was much faster once I joined MFP in May. Feel free to friend me.0

Heya I am 5'9 and I seem to have more to lose than most lol, but my goal is 160-170, I am currently 267.6 so I have a long ways to go! I have lost 14.8lbs since mid July when I started Weight Watchers again. I joined MFP and have lost 6 since joining and I have only been here 3 weeks. Took me 7 weeks of WW to lose 8 of those pounds and I was flunctuating. I have been consistently going down since joining MFP so I feel it is the better program for me!! Feel free to add me !0

Hi, i'm 25, 5'9 and my starting weight was 252lbs. I've managed to lose 35 since last year but just joined the site to give me a kickstart again after a few lbs starting to creep back on. Got out of my usual exercise routine after holiday so im hoping this will help my motivation. My goal weight is 175. If you want to add me would be good to see your progress. Definitely agree about measurements, its so good to see the inches disappearing. I need to do new set tonight to load on here. xx0

Feel free to add me, I am about 5'8.5" and I actually am working through a back injury where they have me on medications for the pain as well, but I have not needed surgery as of yet. Everything is mild so far but at my highest I was 235 and I lost about 10 pounds so far. My goal is to get down to 150, possibly lower depending on where I am at at that point. I find that Yoga actually really helps my back and there is a little pain, but the stress relief is great. Feel free to add me!0
