Not Feeling Sore After Exercises, Why?

I'm doing Turbo Fire plus Zumba & Strength Endurance Classes at my gym. I alternate strength days and do one or two cardio exercises 6 days a week.
At the SET class yesterday I really pushed myself with weights, trying to do all of the reps even if it's at my own pace so I don't need a break. I felt it right after the workout and when I considered doing another round of a strength workout later that day I opt'ed not to because my triceps and biceps already were sore enough.
I anticipated to wake up to some soreness but I feel great. Could this be from the 130+ grams of protein I take in daily or because I didn't work hard enough?

Whatever you did, keep it up. Its funny this thread was just created after a thread about how to ease the pain has been going strong all morning.
Protein helps you recover so it's definately working, be happy!0 -
lucky! i am so freaking sore i can barely walk!0

I've read that sometimes muscle soreness is not an indication of how hard you've worked or the quality of the workout, can any one else add input on this? I say keep up what you've been doing0

it means your body is getting use to the working out. after a while, you may need to change it up so your muscles will get confused & you won't plateau sooner0

muscle soreness may take more than 24 hours.
i did chest on monday and didn't feel it until wednesday.0 -
Protein helps you with recovery. I used to work out 3 times a week (kind of intensive) and I used to get very sore...but that's before I knew about protein shakes. lol! Now I workout 6 days a week (intensive programs like Turbo Fire and a little Zumba) and I don't get sore, thanks to the protein shakes.0

Some people just don't get sore. Just like some people don't sweat. It's very rare, but can happen.
Try to increase your weight by 2.5 lbs. That should be enough to trigger some soreness if you are able to feel it.0 -
I, too, get disappointed when I'm not sore after a workout. But I've come to appreciate when my muscles can recover quickly.
Quick muscle recovery is probably because you are getting enough protein and carbohydrates to prevent the lactic acid in your body from building up excessively. This is a good thing. However, be careful that you're not consuming too much protein.
It is possible that maybe you're not pushing yourself enough to be sore...but that doesn't sound like the case. If you want more of a challenge, though, try adding weighted gloves or ankle weights.
All in all, I think it's a myth that you HAVE to be sore for it to be a good workout. It's more important to get that heart rate up and to be consistent with your workouts. Happy exercising0 -
Muscle soreness won't always show itself properly until 24/48hrs after exercise, however the protein is playing a huge part in not having sore muscles, protein together with alot of water play massive roles in helping your recovery.0

^^^ this.
Somebody just don't get sore. But mixing up your routine if you are being doing the same thing for awhile though.0 -
Oh, I 'feel it' when I'm doing the exercises. I"m the one in a class grunting at times, squeezing my eyes shut in discomfort and letting out big sighs when done. And there have been bootcamps where I has DOMS and out of commission for days.
If I add any more weight I'll hit failure too soon. The classes are high rep/low weights and the TF videos are high weight low reps.0 -

This has pretty much been my experience. I teach body pump, so I no matter how hard I push those weights that class doesn't make me sore because the moves are always the same so my body has become effecient doing them. I've added 2 days in the weight room to get that old burn back . . . I miss it. It always felt so rewarding the next morning, waking up all sore.0 -
Interested in the replies. It probably does have something to do with food. I've been doing the same workouts for 9 months and occasionally I'll still get sore. I realize that some days I'm just more "into it" and work harder, but it's not usually those days that I'm sore. It seems fairly random. Maybe I should pay more attention to what I eat on those days.0
