I figured I'd update incase somewhere down the road someone finds this.
FYI I have severe osteoarthritis and am scheduled for a simultaneous bilateral knee surgery (both at the same time)
this January.
I got fitted for the Ossur Unloader 1 brace for both knees. They are pricey - just over $800 each.
Thankfully our provincial health care pays for it.
Tried them out today on my usual lunch time walk - they are supposed to be the lightest and lowest profile
brace for severe OA.... I found them a little hot and it took 15-20 minutes to get used to them but overall
it definitely felt better.... less pain..... when walking. Glutes felt a little tight but otherwise..... so far so good.0 -
@grisiton, bikecheryl hasn’t logged on to MFP since November 2020 so you will not get an update.
Hopefully someone with brace experience will chime in.
Cheers, h.0
