I'm craving homemade chili. I've never made it before but I'm a decent cook and not afraid of spice. Any one have any recipes that you could swear by..... yummmmmmmmmmm I see chili goodness in my near future! lol

I don't make mine very spicy and it's pretty easy.

One or two pounds of ground beef browned
One big can of kidney beans, light or dark (or you can use dried beans but you need to soak them first)
    One red pepper chopped
    One or two onions chopped
One can of plain tomato sauce or diced tomatoes

Put everything into a big pot or crockpot and simmer for 1-2 hours on stove or 4-6 hours in the crockpot.

I just used some chili in my eggs this morning for cheater huevos rancheros. :)

here is my nutritional breakdown of the biggest loser doc's chili i make plus the actual recipe....i double it and freeze 1 1/2cup containers for lunches in the future....last time i used low sodium tomatos and beans to help with issue...i use beef broth instead of chicken to give it more of a chili taste and i also add a pinch of fennel seed to give it more of a sausagey flavor....

    1lb ground lean turkey, browned/drained
    Taco seasoning (any kind)
2 cans dark red kidney beans
    2 cans Bush's black beans; rinsed/drained
2 cans Bush's Chili Beans in Medium Sauce (or hot or mild sauce)
2 cans petite diced tomatoes (can be w/ jalepenos or chili style)
2 sm cans diced green chili's

Brown meat, drain, add taco seasoning to meat following directions on package. Add all all into pot and simmer until warm/hot and ready to serve

*I sometimes add diced up onions/green peppers shortly before meat is completely cooked, as well*

Bumping to keep tabs on this thread. I'd love to find a good chili recipe that is quite mild. I've never cooked chili but really like the chili they serve at Wendy's and would love to get a similar recipe.
