Gift selection help - PS3 games?

Hi Everyone. I'm my brother-in-law just got a PS3 and I'm looking to get him a game or two for his birthday. But I don't have a PS3. So I can't tell what is good and what is junk.

Anyone have any good game suggestions? He likes shooter games and they can be older too because he hasn't played any PS3 games. Thanks!

    What sort of games does he like?

    I really like the call of duty games. Black ops is pretty good but they are fairly graphic and contain foul language
    The ratchet and clank series is great for family fare. Raving Raymond rabbids (er... something like that) Is a great multi-player family game. I also like the lego games such as lego harry potter, lego pirates of the carribean, etc. I also like Infamous (there is a sequel out I haven't played).

    Not a huge gamer, but you can't go wrong with Madden or Call of Duty. Portal [and Portal 2] will change the way you see the world.

    Thanks! Now I at least have some idea what to start looking at. He'll probably get COD: Back Ops and Portal :smile:
