is it bad to drink more than 8 cups of water .... and what does water weight mean ???

I drink about a gallon of water/day depending on my activity. So no, I think you're ok going over more than 8 cups.0

Drinking more than 8 cups a water is actually good for you. Your body needs water to function. Everyone knows that the kidney's excrete waste and need water to do that, but did you know that if your body isn't getting enough water, then it stresses your kidneys and your liver has to take over? The liver plays a main role in metabolising fats and cholesterol so the less you can stress it out, the better! Most people also think that drinking lots of water will cause you to gain water weight. This is a myth. You gain water weight primarily when you do not drink enough water. Your body hoardes what it has and doesn't want to let it go. If you drink plenty of water, your body will eventually let go of those reserves and any excess water weight will come off. :happy:0

I drink about 8 - 10 cups every day. It helps to flush out sodium from the foods you eat. Sodium is one of the culprits that actually causes water retention. So drinking water helps you not to retain water. Sounds bizarre but it's true. Really, be careful how much sodium you consume. I wish you the best of luck. :happy:0

thanks for responding guys ... i was drinking about 3 L a day but i read somewhere that over drinking water can cause you to gain wait so i reduce the amount to only 8 ( maybe 9 ) glasses a day0

I drink about 18 8 oz. glasses a day on average. Not affecting me negatively far as I can tell.0

Remember that you dont have to drink 8 cups of actual water! It's a common misconception. The average body needs 8 cups of fluid a day, but you get a lot of that from other things, such as fruit and veg, as well as tea, coffee, soda, fruit juice, etc.
By all means drink 8 cups of water if you wish, just remember that it isn't essential that it's actual neat water.0
