I had a serious (even tho it was taken as funny) post about me purging and someone (idk who) reported it and now its gone. I don't want to purge but I feel the need to if i exceed 1200 cals a day. Help or advice anyone?

find out who reported it and vomitt on them.
and i bet more people will do if just occasionally then will have the guts to admit it0 -
"Don't do it girl!" There are too many bad side effects. Just go for an extra walk/run/sex or whatever floats your boat.0

That is a serious topic, one that is best addressed by a trained professional. Any advise otherwise would be suspect.
I wish you my best in addressing this. Fitness and health should be viewed as a total package, not simply a calorie count or a number on a scale.0 -
Only thing I can think of to exercise instead so you burn off the excess calories. My calorie intake is 1200 also and I have to remind myself that if I do go over that its ok because a womans intake is 2000. I obviously aim for the 1200 to lose the weight I need to but I am not going to beat myself up over it if I go a couple of hundred calories over! Saying that .... today I had a really really bad day and went 1700 calories over - seriously!! I've written it off and am starting back on it tomorrow x0

My serious topic is against the "rules of mfp". But I don't do it everyday just when I feel like basically a failure at my weight loss. But thanks guys for all the advice I've been given so far and to all the advice I'll be receiving0

That! Seriously though, don't go all crazy about a few extra calories.0 -
Actually....it was I who reported it. As a former ana/mia...seeing this topic come up and the fact that you seem to think it is okay is a huge issue. You need to seek counceling. Seeing people 'LOL' and 'Haha' a topic that is extreamly serious isn't funny. You need to get some help before you destroy your body. You will ruin your teeth, your throat, your entire mouth. Your muscles will start eating themselves and your metabolism will never become normal. Seek help ASAP.0

I agree. When you feel you look good and you can smile when you look in the mirror... who cares how many calories you ate? And if you go over 1200... start over the next day. Talk to a professional about this as well... Please, it's healthier to keep the nutrients in your body... so if you have a bad day, forget about it and start over the next day. Don't dwell.0 -

And it will still destroy your body. Think about the acid errosion of your throat and teeth. I have had 4 root cannals and need two more. My enamal is gone. I only purged once a week...for 3 years. It still does major damage.0 -
In addition to advising you to seek help from a professional, because this is a serious problem, could I ask that you don't just use emoticons as title for posts.
It basically forces people who are merely curious and concerned into reading your post. In this case, this is a conversation best left between you and the forum moderator. This is a little manipulative, even if it's unintentional.0 -

Even "once in a while" is WAY too often. Definately time to readjust your goals. So not worth making yourself sick. Definately time to talk to someone.0 -

I've thought about what I've been doing over the time I've been sitting hear reading all of your responses. I've decided to not seek help. Instead of purging when I eat over 1200 Cals I will just add a little more exercise to my day. Thanks again to all who gave advice. I'll always come back to this thread if I feel like doing it again. It's pretty good to know that allot of people on here actually care about how others are dieting. xoxoxo0

I applaud you for stepping up on someone else's behalf. This is a topic better left for professionals. Nobody on here should be saying otherwise. "Purging" is a serious condition and should not be taken lightly. Seek help.0 -

How the Hell is an emoticon manipulative?
My objection centered around the fact that it was just an emoticon. Had the title read, "Help with eating disorder" I would have skipped over it and left it to people who might help. As it happens, I had to read the post on this very personal/sensitive topic before deciding whether or not I even wanted to in the first place. Would you prefer the term deceptive instead manipulative? Retract the claws, if you don't mind.

I don't recall accusing of forcing me to read anything. I'm saying that if you titled your topic thread with something even slightly more descriptive than a sad face, it would make deciding whether or not read a sensitive thread more informed. This analogy is a little hyperbolic, but fairly similar: It's like putting a plain brown cover over a porn magazine and then handing it to a someone else and then just saying, "I didn't force you to open it."0 -

I don't agree with that she was perusing and saw it with no idea what it was about once she read it damage done like a car wreck you know....but you didn't do it on purpose. But do read this again when you are feeling close to doing that whatever helps you take a step back you know.0 -

I agree with your observationWe are indeed chatting on forums. It doesn't seem really relevant to the conversation, though, does it? Unless you're imply that a 4 word title constitutes an essay, in which case we'll just have to agree to disagree.
Have a good day, and best wishes to all.0 -

*shrug* You're an adult. I could treat you like a child if you prefer, but I thought you might find it offensive. Nothing I've said indicates a lack of respect. It's a pity it didn't go both ways.
I meant what I said about wishing you (and everyone else) well.0 -
