I'm sitting here at work with my MFP friend and colleague Carla4028, and we are craving sugar and cheeseburgers ARGH!! Any advise on how to get past these situations? Of course the easy way out is to just indulge, but that is what brought me to this site in the first place....

Kind of past the craving now that I took a moment to write this topic... hmmmmm, maybe i've answered my own questions ;-).

However advise for future cravings, which do happen often, would be appreciated!

I usually drink water, pick a healthier snack, or just stay busy so I don't think about those cravings.

Make sure you are eating every 2 to 3 hours. Not big meals but snacks. This helps me and water too!! :-)

Methods I use to manage cravings:

    -Drink water, seltzer, or tea.
    -brush and floss
-wait 20 minutes to see if the craving/thought passes
-keep my hands busy with knitting, embroidery etc
    -go for a walk
    -lie down
  • Thank you for your tips guys! It's appreciated!

at least for your sweet cravings, there's no reason you can't fit in some chocolate or something like that into your daily calorie allowance. that should prevent a binge on said sweets since you're not denying yourself them
