Why do people have to be so mean?

I used to be friends with someone back in the day, who was known to cause a lot of drama. Last I heard from him was 2 years ago..its was quiet, I can live my life without the extra stress...so now, 2 years later, he sends me a request of facebook and I denied him immediately without thinking twice. So, he tries to get a hold of my fiancee on facebook without my knowing so. Says a whole bunch of things that were bad enough my fiancee didn't want to tell me for my own good..I'm curious, but I agree..I do not want to know because I don't want to go off and do reckless things...hes 400lbs, jealous I think..I have a life he wants..and just in general, he likes to stir up trouble. I don't even let it get to me anymore..yeah its stressful hes starting up again..I'm looking forward to my run tomorrow to let out some steam.
Still though..why do people like to cause drama to others? It pisses me off.
Don't they have anything better to do then harass others??

They just want to bring people down and make everyone else feel as bad as they do.
Good thing your first instinct was right to avoid bad people like this.0 -
It's called jealous0

IGNORE THAT DUMBASS!0

misery loves company. when you don't feed off of it, he'll see he can't get to you and probably try to find another victim. just pityful.0

Jealousy, attention seeking, envy, competition, etc etc. Just be who you are and ignore idiots.0

I ask myself this question sometimes, too. Of the people I know personally, they do it because of big insecurities about themselves. If people try to help them, they up the ante. They don't want people meddling in their lives, telling them what and what not to do. Their behavior hurts people. And, for the one who always says s/he wants to be loved, s/he is not open to it as s/he may claim. These people tend to prefer the world to revolve around them, to sort itself out, rather than to look inside and sort themselves out. I gather it's too painful for them to go there.
You are doing the right thing by staying away from this guy. It sounds like he could be toxic for you (as those people I described are for me) Allow your fiance to protect you. As you stated, you would probably get upset anyway. Why give him free rent in your head?
Find a way to work him out of your system for good. You can also block him on FB. I did this with a friend of a friend who was harrassing me. It cut down my stress a lot.
Best wishes on your weight loss, btw.0 -
I'm sorry you had to go through that It just comes to show that you're the higher person!
I've had trouble with that sort of stuff too. I had a girl friend in high school that was a pathological liar (no joke). When one of my other friends on facebook was complaining about their life and how horrible it was, I tried to cheer him up by telling him all the good things he had, what he had to live for, etc. For some reason that old friend from high school got angry at my response to this random guy and wrote me a novel on how I'm fat, ugly, pathetic, etc.
Some people can't get past jealousy and take other peoples' positivity as the reciprocal. It's sad, but we just have to keep our chins up and continue on through life with a thankful attitude.0 -
People like to do this because their lives are so pathetic they want to try and cause somebody else to feel as bad as they do. Good job ignoring him and turning that into motivation fr a good run.0

So very true...0 -
just ignore them they obviously are so pathetic and bored they had to find someone to harass to make them feel better0

So glad you don't stoop to the levels of people like him!
He's pathetic. He probably wants attention! Just leave him be and live the life you always wanted and he can never have!0 -
some people wanna pretend that they are in highschool for the rest of there lives!!! way to move on and keep looking at your own positives...forget about him!0

i know..some people are like that..its usually a case of not being able to take responsibility for themselves, so they blame others and this manifests as being mean and selfish and thoughtless..i see it constantly where i'm living now..no one cares what they do or who they hurt or how rude they are to others..its a sense of entitlement they have..and if they dont get it they lash out.
some people have this sense of helplessness and it just reflects outward as anger and meanness. its not an excuse, but i guess thats why it happens.
especially when they see others lives are 'better' than theirs.0 -

His life would be better with you. Unfortunately, he has the audacity to think that yours would be better with him.0

he sounds like a turd.0

My friend told me that a long time ago. I have never forgotten it. It's always a good reminder. :-)0 -
That is great that you are smart and mature enough not to let this person back in your life. It is great that you realized that it would not be different, but the same garbage. You should also ask your fiance to cut off this loser also. This man sounds troubled, and it is drama you don't need anywhere in your life.
It took time, but I was able to weed out most of the drama people in my life. At one time, I was surrounded. Life is so much better being around like minded, smart happy people.0 -
By the way, TO HELL WITH THAT LOSER!0
