Hi there

my name is Marie and I’m starting my journey to fitness today. I’m going on a Caribbean cruise February 2022 and hopefully will fit in my bikini.

I finished treatment breast cancer May 2020. I gained 4 stone during treatment and am now ready to lose the weight.

wish me luck 🍀 Best wishes to everyone x

I'm not wishing you luck, weight loss is not a matter of luck 🙂 I am wishing you consistency, being kind to yourself and flexibility to adapt your strategy if necessary! You can do it 🙂

I recommend reading the forums here, lots of useful information and people willing to help!

  • Thank you so much. 😃

Hi, Marie - I'm a breast cancer survivor, too: I was diagnosed at stage III back in 2000, went through surgery-chemo-radiation-7.5 years of meds, and am doing fine still now.

I'm betting on you getting into that bikini: It's about a sensibly moderate steady weight loss, consistently, over time. Exercise is a good thing for fitness (and a better appearance in a bikini than comes from weight loss alone), plus it can improve our long-term survival odds, as a bonus. Ditto for healthy body weight, good nutrition. Wishing you success on all those fronts!

I lost 50+ pounds back in 2015, using MFP, and have been maintaining a healthy weight since, so I know it's possible. You can do it!

    Best wishes!

Regardless of how much weight you lose, every pound (or stone) lost, is a WIN!

You have already beat so many odds, take each pound lost as the win that it is, and celebrate life, and family and friends (or whoever it is that you are traveling with) and enjoy your holiday!!
