Take pictures and measurements. It will help so much down the road when you are wondering whether you are making progress or not.0

Absolutely take measurements. I didn't and regret it. I didn't take my first measurements until after I'd lost 25 pounds.0

Measurements - I wish I'd taken them before I started!!! even if you don't publicise them, take photos and measurements. I always thought I'd never show myself in "that" condition... but when you start to shift the weight and inches you realise it's great to show people just how far you've come.0

Good luck0

Definitely take measurements. I have been stuck at the same weight for over two weeks now, but in that time, have dropped numerous inches...results are results, and sometimes you don't see them on the scale!0

definately take before pics and measurments...... I did neither at my high weight and now that I am within 10 lbs of my goal I can't see that I have changed. As bad as I would have felt at the time taking pics in the beginning, I think I would have been thrilled to see the difference in the end.
For measurments, maybe take others than in the set list too, like do thighs and biceps too?0 -
Welcome to MFP. Definitely take pic and measurements now...so when you get to your goal weight or along this journey, you'll be able to monitor your progress. Good luck :-)0

Thanks so much guys trying to be motivated in that i'll never have to look like this again...
Might have to get a little further along before posting im not that brave yet!!
Last time i didnt do either and have pics of me at goal which motivate me but v few from 'before'...i avoided cameras! Think comparing me with me might stop the horrible habit ive got into with comparing me with erm EVERYONE else!
Thanks again0 -
I just took my before photos yesterday. I was just doing measurements before and it helps, but it's not nearly as motivating as you would expect. Ten pounds (or so) ago, I was so afraid to get in front of the camera in an outfit where I could actually SEE what I looked like. But seeing everyone else's success stories here on MFP made me think that it might not be so bad. The measurements just made me frustrated on a short term basis. The numbers were going down, but not as much as I hoped.
So yes to photos and congrats for being so brave!0
