AF and chest heart strap

Hi. I suffer from Atrial Fibrillation and take daily meds for it. I’ve recently starting wearing a chest heart monitor and I think my heart is a lot more ‘fluttery’ while I wear it - like the HRM is having a negative effect on my heart rhythm. I don’t even know if that’s possible - so, has anyone else experienced any similar issues?
Also, looking for new running friends so add me if you like.
Cheers.

Your Dr or the nurse should be able to answer that without a visit.

Considering I was allowed to wear my chest strap during a treadmill test where they also had me hooked up to all their normal sensors and were not concerned with any false readings caused by my strap outputting something - I think the claims made by the HRM's that they are read only, not inputting any signal - is true.

Cheers, makes sense. I was thinking it was probably just me being extra sensitive about the heart.

Thinking there is something wrong with your heart is really creepy. I have a problem with chest pain that has been checked out pretty thoroughly and is diagnosed as some sort of muscle issue. (It sometimes hurts when I breathe, somewhere around shoulder-blade level to one side. It flares up, hurts for a few days, then goes away.)

Anyway, putting a chest strap on adds to the sense of constriction sometimes, and I have to get used to it. Are you wearing a consumer strap or a medically-issued strap?
