    Its a new forum set up and there are some bugs and some things not set up quite right yet.
    To add someone go to top of page and click find member and put the users name in you want to request, it will take you to their page and you'll see a choice to add friend ( if anyone knows an easier way .. do tell) its a pain in the butt but hopefully they'll bring back the old way of clicking on someone's name and the option will come up to add there.
    Also, you need to be friends with someone to pm them.

    I know, I know.. its complicated and confusing but its new to us all.
