convenient dinner ideas (higher protein)

I tend not to record my evening meals (mostly out of laziness), but going into dinner, I've got about 700-800 calories to play with, about 30g carbs left, and 80-100g protein. What the heck am i supposed to do with that? Chicken breast gets old, fast.

I need some ideas for something easy, fast, and vaguely interesting and high in protein.

What do y'all like?

If I still need to get a lot of protein in by the end of the day, I make a yummy protein shake to go along with my normal dinner. I really like Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Caramel Toffee Fudge protein with some milk and crushed ice (almond milk is amazing with it too!).
  • pizza chicken

    pound chicken breast flat
brown it for a few mins on stove top
add sauce and whatever toppings you like
    broil/cook in oven.

that's what we're having here tonight anyways :)

Do you like seafood, pork or firm fish such as monkfish? If so, you can pack plenty into a stirfry along with most of your veg portions for the day, if you need to up the cals you could have some noodles/rice with it to bulk it up a little. Otherwise, how about mixed bean salads, with new potatoes and some (reasonable cal ;-) ) dressing? Stacks of protein in some of the beans, canned (and rinsed well for the sodium) ready in mins :-)

Pork or beef tenderloin has about the same fat content as chicken breasts. Fish is a great option! A nice big tuna or swordfish steak or grilled salmon would do the trick. Shrimp stir fry.

Add some cheese to your veggies. Throw some hard boiled eggs, beans and nuts in the salad. Have a serving of cottage cheese and fruit. Pick high protein veggies like broccoli, have a protein bar/protein shake. Tuna and fish fillets are high in protein. Drink a glass of milk with dinner.
  • salmon with a big veggie filled salad and a sweet potato is one of my fav meals! i also eat egg white omelets for dinner a lot when i need something simple but high in protein and cheap! i use spinach mushrooms feta cheese tomatoes and about 5 egg whites. if im feeling snacky or just need to eat more calories after dinner, i make a smoothie-in-a-bowl. this is such a great idea for when you feel like you want to eat something after dinner but dont want to blow calories on a dessert. i throw a cup of frozen spinach, a cup of frozen berries, 1/2 scoop protein powder and some splenda in a blender and it comes out so nice and thick, and i pour it in a bowl and eat with a spoon so it feels like ice cream! sometimes ill throw some cereal and PB on top too :)

I admit, I'm intrigued by the chicken pizza. Plus I don't have to make a trip to store.

Thanks everyone for all the ideas.
  • How many calories is a serving of this? I'm not sure how to add it in the food count since I can't find it?
