Paid for premium version but cannot figure out how to use it. Some talk about tapping a large "plus" button, but cannot find such a button. Cannot find a way to enter food quantities consumed. Also cannot find a way to reach a human at myfitnesspal for help or for cancelling what seems to be a worthless program.
Please help.

Are you trying to add foods etc from your phone or desktop?
If I'm on my phone, the large "+" button is centered on my screen toward the bottom.
If I'm on a "real" computer, on the homepage near the top is a blue stripe that has "my home," "food," "exercise," etc in white lettering. Click on the "food" tab. From there, "add food" and then based on what entry you select, you can adjust food quantities.0 -
I’ve lost nearly a hundred pounds here, so I’d hardly call it worthless. If you can play the simplest phone game, you should be able to figure this out. It’s unbelievably user friendly, and if you’re having an issue in a specific area, you’ve found the boards, which are THE place to get help.
Are you sure you’re really stuck, or are you being pushed to use it and kicking and screaming all the way?
My husband used to tabulate and spreadsheet complex sales numbers and projections for a Fortune 100 company, which involved living on his computer. He claimed MFP was too complicated. It wasn’t til he was ready -on his own, without me pushing him - that he made the effort and admitted it was pretty easy.
If you’re not willing to invest the least bit of effort, methinks you’re paying lip service to please someone else.
Are you ready? And willing?

springlering 62 - I am willing on my own free will, but cannot find the large blue button which seemingly allows one to get started. Do you know where the blue button is? Can you help?0

jbanx256 - Your post was helpful as I now know that I do not need to find a large blue button. However, cam you be more specific about how to adjust food quantities?Unless I learn how to adjust food quantities, the program is not going to be of much use to me.
thanks for your time.

once you've clicked on the food tab
go to one of your meals and click "add food"
it'll take you to a screen that says "search our food database by name"
key in whatever food you're looking for & hit "search"
"matching foods" list comes up
pick one
over to the right will be a section where you can adjust how much (1, 2, 4, 1000) of what measure (cups, grams, ounces, etc)
once you've used a food before, it'll show up in a favorites list and you can quick-adjust quantities etc much more quickly

JBanx256 - Thanks for the help. Finally catching on. Are you able to explain the process for "reading bar codes"?
KAW0 -
unfortunately no, never used the barcode scanner on MFP. sorry!0

Barcodes... Go to your Diary to Add Food. There is a button to use the Barcides scanner. Push it, then hold your phone camera over the product barcode until it scans. Adjust quantities as needed.1

Have you read the MFP faq page? It has all the info you need to get started.0

This is the iOS app view:
You can add a food by going straight to your diary OR hitting the plus sign.

Again, this is the iOS app:
Go to your diary or hit the plus and you’ll get this screen (this is mine, for today):
Touch “add food”
If you want to use the bar code scanner, select it here:
This will open your camera, which you aim at the bar code on the package. You then adjust your serving size as needed and save it.0
