...craziest / most interesting thing you have either seen, found or witnessed while out riding-walking-running?

For me...nothing too far out there. Random CD's is about it but I know some of you long distance folk have to have some good stories!

*bored at my 2nd job*

    1. An over 6 foot tall drag queen with an really bad long blonde wig, pink dress, and black fishnets in the largest pair of high heeled pumps I have ever seen, pushing a bike down the bike path.

    2. A guy playing the bagpipes next to the river.

    3. My husband running his bike into the river while trying to avoid a skunk on the bike path.

    4. The coyote that was running down the center line of the bike path and kept looking over its shoulder at me like I was chasing it.

    5. The wild horses on the other side of the river, running up a mountain.
  • A used condom on the sidewalk across from a high school. I don't even want to know how or why.

  • A dog on a roof....I spent the next several miles of my run trying to figure out how it got up there!

this is funny b/c i actually have a friend whose dog went out on their roof...she was upset/curious why they left her at home, and went out the upstairs window which had access to the roof! just so she could see where they were going. :)

but to answer the question...i usually just see sweatshirts and random shoes. there is a house on my route that was doing a great job of watering the sidewalk the other day with their improperly placed sprinkler.

    1. Bear cubs
    2. A calf tied to a tree like a dog in Wisconsin Amish Country
    3. A crop of marijuana growing along side the road in Wisconsin Amish country (across from the calf)
    4. Several drag queens in pink feather boas and pink and purple beehive wigs

Might I add that this was all seen in the same week....I was doing the Heartland AIDSRide.....St. Paul, MN to Chicago, IL in 6 days. Fun times and lots of crazy things to see!

Hahaha all of those are good.

I forgot I did see a deer inside someones garage that was left open.

Oh yeah....I have determined most of the general population either drink & drive or drink & ride cuz of countless alcohol cans I have found! 4 Loko...beer...el cheapo wine bottles. Kinda disturbing!

While we lived in Okinawa a bunch of my girl friends and I (6 moms plus strollers) went for a early morning walk, about a mile into our walk there was a man passed out in the pushes butt naked with a beer bottle in his hand! THE BEST PART was my 2 yr old said "look mom he has a tail" (refering to his man parts) lol!!

A few weeks back my husband, I, and my brother in law were riding on a limestone path through town when I came upon a small red fox trotting down the path. He was so stinking cute and reminded me of my sheltie puppy! We've seen him several times on that path in different spots!

In 25 years of riding I have found body parts, tools, money, lost children, puppies, kittens, other assorted baby animals, assorted pornography, sex toys, wallets, purses, sunglasses, Grey Goose, furniture, and most recently a large bag of fried pork skins. That's all that comes to mind at the moment. By the way I have stopped to inspect, keep, or deal with all of these things.

I will also add that I was once hit in the back by a gallon jug of chocolate milk which burst all over me as I went skidding off the road.
