Happy New Year. Welcome to the Monthly Challenge for January. Following are the Sunday weigh-in days for January 2022. We typically post our weight on Sunday, however, feel free to post comments, support, and encouragement whenever. We also have a companion spreadsheet to post and track your progress for the year. I’ll post a link to the spreadsheet on January 1st, 2022.

Here we go again! I've been a member of this monthly challenge since 2018. You'd think I would have reached my fitness goals in that time? Actually, I have had some great success thanks to the help I've received on this forum over the years. Although I'm not where I want to be yet, I'm thinking that 2022 may just be my year. I will post here often and know I will gain support from my old friends here and encouragement from new friends.

I'll see you again on January 1st with my start weight for 2022. I <3 MFP and this monthly Challenge Group. Let's make 2022 the best year ever!

Here is a link to the companion spreadsheet some people in this group like to use to track progress for the year. Feel free to pick a column at the end of the spreadsheet and add your information.

Happy New Year! I’m ready to leave 2021 behind and start this year looking for victories both on and off the scale. Typically, in the first month of the year, I have success with weight loss on my scale. Of course, I want to share that success with you on this forum. However, in 2022, I want to focus more on Non-Scale Victories (NSV).

My first NSV this new year is that I’ve convinced my wife to join me in 100 days of clean keto. We’ve got weights, measurements, charts, and each other ready to go this first day of 2022. I’m confident with her support we will have lots of NSVs to report on this forum.

I’m also looking forward to hearing about your success. I thrive on encouragement and motivation I hear on this Monthly Challenge. Let’s all support each other and make 2022 the best!

Feeling the same way... so I've somehow got to somehow do things differently. Learn from the mistakes I've made in the past... one being living with my mom... yikes, I'm going to do that again in the summer. Late night snacking... somehow be able to lock myself away from food after 10pm, and generally allowing carbs to sneak in, which begins that perpetual craving to replenish glucose in my bloodstream.

This is my first official weigh-in day for this challenge, Sunday, Jan 2, 2022. I know it seems silly to weigh-in after just one day into the new year??? But, I’m excited to record a loss after one whole day in a row of being keto clean. Ha Ha!

Seriously, my wife has joined me in an effort to stay keto clean for the first 100 days of this year. We tried Keto-ish for quite a while now. Keto-ish hasn’t work for us. In fact, in last year I fluctuated in weight from a high of 190.4 to a low of 172.2.

Now after only 2 days of being keto clean, the keto whoosh has begun and I’ve shed 3 pounds. In addition, I can say I feel better, and I know I’ve slept better the past two nights. I fear this sounds like the rants of an optimist who has caught keto fever. Could be? Hopefully, my fever will last at least 100 days this year.

Here I go. Finally actually keto again instead of just low-carb. I've done a lot of loosey goosey messing around since covid ruined our lives but I know what I need to do to get this weight off. 20lbs up. The heaviest I've been in 7 years. Ugh. Oh well. Just gotta do the thing. :triumph:

You and I are same-same buddies. You have been Loosey Goosey and I have Keto-ish for too long. I'm trying to go for 100 days of clean keto and logging it here on MFP. I've already done two days in a row :* . I know it is an aggressive goal, but like you, I need to stick with what I know works. We can do this buddy.

Joining! I really need to stop this slow spiral, which became a fast spiral. Pandemic left me with 20 extra pounds on top of the 20 I had to lose.

I know what to do. Just gotta do it and stay consistent. I support all of you! Let’s do it.

Hope it's not too late to start this challenge. I am 36 years old living in Canada. I don't have any friends that workout so I find motivation challenging. I'm hoping this will help.

Hello! I would like to join. Crazy when I read the OP's stats and our starting weight is the same. That must mean I am supposed to be here. I started squeaky clean keto on the 3rd. No grains, legumes, nuts, dairy or alcohol.

Today marks 9 days of being keto clean for my wife and me this year. We challenged each other to stay keto clean for the first 100 days of the year. Nine down and only 91 to go, HA! Seriously, I’ve been using covid, climate change, Y2K and every excuse I could to avoid doing the things I know I should.

Keto has worked very well for me when I did it right. I’ve been doing keto-ish for over 3 years now. My trouble is I get good results then think I can get cute and sneak bad carbs back in while still eating high fat.

So, hopefully for the next 100 days, with the help and support of my wife and you guys, I will report back here with a clean record each week. Stay tuned and feel free to hold me accountable. I’ll do the same for you.

Dkginger it must be kismet. Along with my wife, we re-started keto on New Year’s Day. Our goal is to reach 100 days being “Sqeaky Clean” as you say. Talk is cheap though! That is why I like this group. I feel obligated to put up stats as well as just smack talk. Welcome aboard “Squeaky”. Hope to see you often with good news to report.

Pretty successful week. This is all water. Good habits set. I'm hoping I can last the month on keto. Unfortunately I have an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's (also called Dry Body Disease) and keto keeps water off me really well. Which unfortunately causes problematic dry eye and mouth issue. And eye irritation and damage to my corneas if gets too bad. I'm starting to show signs of my eyes being very uncooperative. I hope this is as bad as it gets, and I can continue. This is why I stopped keto in the first place. :unamused:

Very pleased with my first week but it's the second and third weeks where I usually just stay static and lose motivation -I've been here plenty of times before. This time I'm not going to get disheartened on any bouncing up and down and just going to keep focussed and keep going.

Here I go again! Holidays are over and I just got back from our annual winter vacation, kids are back in school and I'm back at work and it's time to get serious (once again). Happy to see some familiar people and I hope everyone is doing well.

Unfortunately, I have about 40lbs to lose. I am flexible on my goal weight because depending on how much I work out, I am not as concerned about the number on the scale as much as I am about my size and getting rid of this fat I have been hanging on to.

I will turn 52 in March of this year and it really does get harder as I get older. Having 4 kids is no excuse, but I do feel it has affected my body. It sure had affected every other area of my life (in the best possible ways!)

I have the best results if I follow a lower fat version of Keto, which is basically a low carb/high protein diet. I cannot do high fat, because that makes it too hard for me to keep my calories in check. Protein is essential to not lose muscle and my hormones are way out of whack when I eat too many carbs. I know what works for my body, it is just a matter of me being disciplined and doing it. Wish that weren't so hard! I am my own worst enemy most of the time. This group and logging my food has been amazing for me in the past and I'm happy to be here.

Happy New Year! I'm so happy to see some old familiar names on here.

I joined in 2018 and with the support of this group lost 30lbs in about 5 months. I maintained that loss for several years. When Covid hit it all hit the fan and I have gained back that weight and then some in the last two years. So, here I am again, hoping to get and give the same amazing support and inspiration I got almost 4 years ago. I love Keto because it works and because I feel great when I'm doing it.

I've cleaned up my Keto act this time and taken it easy on the cured meats and cheese. I'm eating more fish and chicken and avocados.
