Lipedema

I stumbled across Lipedema when I was trying to see if there could possibly be a reason why I am in excruciating pain when they do that stupid blood pressure cuff and there it was. I'm sure I have type 3 and 5 at stage 2 but I can't find a dr to look at me yet. My mother (her mother, her sisters) and my sisters are all affected.

I could use any information you have gathered over the years as well as successful treatment plans and anti-inflammatory meal plans or recipes.

Are any of you guys still here and if so how have you been handling your Lipedema and do you have any breakthrough information or treatments that have worked for you to halt or slow any progression of this disease?

Right now I am starting Cavitation therapy on my arms and thighs. If you haven't heard about this, here is a link to read more and I'll try to find the symposium that I watched that cited a study on how cavitation therapy worked better for lipedema patience than actual liposuction and was non-invasive. https://www.healthline.com/health/ultrasonic-cavitation

I was diagnosed in November by a vascular specialist. I have started seeing an OT who has me on compression wraps (Leg wraps) to help move the lymphatic fluid and the fat nodules/lobes. Once this is complete they said I will move to compression garments with massage technology in them. I also had my compression pumps ordered I wear these for an hour in the a.m. and an hour at night before bed.

I have been working with a Bariatric doctor (not surgeon) to help with weight loss to take some of the pressure off... AIP or Keto, Low sodium eating styles are recommended eating plans to help reduce inflammation and swelling. Also, avoid extreme heat as this will increase swelling, so no parafin wax or hot stones when getting a pedicure, no hot tub, sauna or steam room when at the gym or spa, etc. (This one made me sad.)

I have lost 18.3 lbs since 12/30 until 2/2 by reducing my carb intake and trying to take in at least 100g of Protein a day.

I have heard that rebounding and trampoline excercises help with reducing swelling as well as water exercises as the legs weigh less in this situation and it is easier to move around.

There is more to come...But this is what I know so far.

I just had surgery for my lipedema but I am also using compression - pump and garments. I try to stay low carb but find keto makes it difficult for me to get effective workouts.
