At 40, I was in the worst shape in my life. Overweight, nursing a badly broken ankle and eating horribly, drinking and drinking soda. in May of 2020, I decided to make change: I hadn't had a drink since December 26, 2019, and I had no intention to go back to it. I gave up soda, processed foods, all junk food, and ate real whole foods, drinking water and green tea. On the rare occasion that I would order in, it would be falafel and hummus, healthy items. I started to become more and more active when I stumbled across thephoenix.org, a completely free service offering live streaming classes of anything from yoga to crossfit. In May of 2021, I got engaged to marry the most wonderful man I've ever met. I'm going full circle: from a life as a chef to a registered dietitian, from battling anorexia and bulimia to being overweight then losing the weight the healthy way.
