Wi-Fit

As part of my weight loss journey I am trying to excercise more ... I always walk once, sometimes twice a day with my dog but today I thought I ought to do a little more ... so out came the Wi-board ...
It was pleased to see me ... or so it said
Anyway, I didnt like the weight gain since I last went on it (a year ago ... 388 days to be precise) ... so I deleted my profile and started again lol
I did the "body test" and it told me I am "obese" (tell me something I dont know!!!) my little Mi doubled in size and then it told me that my wi-fit age was 43 (I'm only 37!!) ... anyway I had a little cry and then got on with it ...
I did 40 mins including 20 mins of "free step" and burned 227 cals ... felt really good to work up a sweat ...
Did the body test again afterwards ... I was still "obese" but my wi-fit age went down to 30 ...
Goes to show that exercise does infact keep you young

Congrats to you to getting that Wii back out! Your story sounds almost exactly the same as mine! I hadn't been on mine for a couple years and it, too, welcomed me back, LOL..... and also proceeded to tell me I had gained several lbs since the last visit and I too was..... "dirty word"... obese! Don't you just love it! I've been continuing to work with mine most everyday... and things are looking up.
Keep it up!! My goal is to get to the point where it tells me I'm just OVERWEIGHT, LOL!!
Thanks for your post! Made me smile to know I'm not alone!0 -
The wii-fit can be a great tool. the food diary and the wii work great together. You really do not realize how many calories you eat till you see it in writing. It really makes you think about it.0

Good job wanting to increase your exercise and still pushing through. Sometimes we need a cry, but it's times when something "slaps" you in the face that makes you realize you need to get into gear. It was seeing myself in pictures that I got slapped in the face. lol Good job! :bigsmile:0

I love my wii fit too although it often spends months at a time hidden under the sofa, until I decide a diet and some exercise is in order and like you my mii doubles in size!!
My goal at the moment is to get to the point where I am no longer at the top end of 'obese', it's like the arrow is stuck up there because although I'm losing weight, the arrow refuses to budge!!0 -
I love using my Wii Fit to help me exercise. I usually do the free stepping for about an hour while I'm watching tv....beats just sitting on the couch watching tv. I am not able to get out and do all the exercise I want to because I have a young son at home who is normally in bed for the night when I'm working out.
Great job at getting back into using it and just remember than any movement is better than no movement...well that's my motto.0 -
another great (if not better than wii fit) wii game that utilizes the wii board is the EA Active more workouts, or something along those lines.
Also does anyone know the weight or BMI reading we need before if drops down into the overweight area? or is it different for everyone?
Cheers0 -

The actual amount you have to weigh to get there will be different for everyone, but as soon as your BMI is under 30 you will move in to the overweight area. Hope this helps!0 -
