I'm Tomislav from Croatia, male, 49 years old, married with three children. Due to circumstances of my occupation, most time of the day I spent sitting, hence, over a long period of time I put my weight on, and because of that, I feel very bad and several health problems appeared. Two years ago I have decided to bring changes to my daily routine so as to be more active, with the aim to lose weight and become fit, as well as healthier. At first, I introduced the walking routine every day. The very beginning of my walking sessions consist of some 30 minutes, and I really did not pay any attention to the pace I have walked at. Then, I started to walk longer, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, until I reached a 10 km distance in a single session. I started to lose weight, slowly but week after week results appeared and motivated me to walk at a faster pace, burn more calories, and after one and a half years of just walking, I lose some 20 kg. Then I introduced a running session, three times a week. Now I run almost every day. I have to admit I become an addicted runner. A few months ago I joined a local group of an informal running group of people. Even I prefer to run on my own, as I do not want to bother running mates with a pace I run, as I am still quite slow, occasionally I join the group end enjoy running in a group of people which enjoy the same activity I do as well.
The next goal I want to achieve is to run (and finish ) my first marathon. Actually, I have already registered for the Zagreb Marathon which is going to take place on 2nd October 2022. Currently, I run a lot and try to lose more weight to become fitter, and able to run easier.
I hope I will enjoy taking part in this community and look forward to sharing all information, experiences in the group.
Let me finish this introduction with a motivational sentence by Eliud Kipchoge: "No human is limited."
