One of the biggest problems I've seen/had for myself, is that healthy/clean eating can be boring if you don't put some effort into it. There are a lot of good tasting but clean recipes out there. Just have to make the effort and you won't even remember junk food. With the exception of the VERY occasional slice of pizza, the thought of junk food grosses me out now.
  • The key is to do in moderation. If I were to say I'm never eating chocolate ever again, I would be kidding myself. They key is I WON'T sit and eat the whole bar. Just one serving.

You won't keep it up if you say never ever again. It's a life style change not punishment!
  • Oh, you poor thing. Don't give it up: just modify it. I now eat a Tablespoon of mini M&Ms, or air popped popcorn, weight watchers entrees, low cal coffees or chocolate drinks. Even a little butter on my veggies feels like a major treat and cheat :-) Just keep trying and never set your mind to giving things up. Just slowly switch to eating 90% healthy and learn to rely on tiny little treats. Hope that helps a little.:drinker:

honestly when I have junk food cravings I do one of two things.
    1. I assess what it is my body is craving and decide if that means my diet is lacking in something. Sugar, fat, sodium, etc and try to find a healthier solution to get that in my body.
    2. give in and eat what it is I'm craving just in a smaller portion. Like instead of a whole sleeve of oreos I eat 1 serving size as listed on the package.

Dieting is a life style change but I'm a strong believer in always trusting your body to tell you what it is you need. Just because we're being healthier doesn't mean we can't still be human.

I keep low calorie/low sugar treats for those cravings

My favorites are Klondike 100 cal no sugar added ice cream sandwiches and no added sugar 40 cal fudge popsicles.

I have no such self control. I eat 4 at a time, trying desperately not to grab another one. I've relegated oreo's to friend's houses, where it would be rude to ask for more than a serving. Keeps me in line! :-)
