I have lost 16 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks and still have no energy. Im taking vitamins and excercising. If I stop doing something and sit down for a few minutes and I fall asleep!! Does anyone else have this problem? If you did, how long did it take to go away and do you know anything that helps? Thanks

My mom used to have this problem. She has an under-active thyroid. You might want to get that checked. If it's not that, then you aren't eating enough. You need calories to get you through the day, so be sure not to under-eat!!

sounds like exhaustion from too much weight loss too fast! 16 pounds is ALOT.....are your calories too low, are you sleeping? rethink your program!

sleep apnea can be a cause of excessive daytime somnolence as well. sounds like a trip to your primary care physician would be a good idea if you are that sleepy.

^^^^This. Plus make sure that the calories that you are eating are nutrient dense (really healthy). Crappy food makes you feel crappy.
  • Also get your iron levels checked. I was quite run down, tired and had no energy. Blood test showed I was slightly anemic.

So my doctor wrote me a prescription for Iron and since then I have not felt as tired and lifeless.

I am going to ask for a repeat and take it as a preventative measure, as I know I do not get enough Iron from my food.

I looked at your profile. There is no wonder you have no energy. Keeping up with 5 children! I commend you. I don't think I would have the energy to do anything else. Good for you.

Make sure that you are eating enough and you are eating food that will replenish vitamins and nutrients. B Vitamins specific help with energy and they speed up your metabolism.

    To answer all the questions:
no, I havent had a baby (loosing weight to hopefully make that easier to accomplish)
the last time my thyroid was checked it was ok, but that was prob at least 2 yrs ago.
I usually eat all of my calories. I have 1770. I am a late bird so I usually stay up late. Prob get between 5-8 hrs of sleep a day.
I had sleep apnea when I was a baby, Can it come back?
It doesnt seem like I have lost 16 lbs but you can see it in my face and body a little. I was suprised that it dropped that fast!
I was diagnosed slightly anemic a while back so I started taking iron again this week. It may have not kicked in yet! I wish it would!
My 5 kids keep me busy but it is fun!
Think I will start taking some B vitamins.
My protein & carbs are usually full if not over.
Thanks for the ideas! I was at a total brain fart trying to think of what to do! Im open to any suggestions!
