Is Steve McQueen helping you push the envelope? It makes a huge difference...

Hmm...good question. Another that comes to mind: Is there a difference between pushing the envelope and pulling the envelope?

There are a lot of factors....
how hard did you push it?
how long did you push it?
    where did you push it?
how fast did you push it?
did you take any breaks while pushing it?
Once you answer those questions we can determine how many calories you burned.

Also, do you plan to push it again?

I think you need a heart rate monitor to get accurate results

That's EXACTLY what I was just going to suggest. Because MFP is going to be off for sure. Their envelopes tested in lab might have weighed more/less than your envelope at home...just different equipment can really throw off those numbers. A HRM is the only way to go. Great advise!!

In the end if the envelope is not ripped you need to try harder. After all an envelope is only made of pape!!!

I pushed an envelope tonight...right into the mailbox. The envelope was a little too big for the mailbox slot, but I PUSHED and then SHOVED it in, until I got it to fit! I'm pretty sure it elevated my heart rate enough to burn a few calories??? LOL!!!

Can someone recommend THE BEST HRM for calculating burn from pushing said envelope into unknown place using uncertain amount of force for an insignificant amount of time? I don't want to waste my money without consulting the great people on MFP first.

Another factor would be...How much friction is caused when you push it~

Being single and 45 and with not terribly high self-esteem since my divorce almost 6 years ago, I think you all can probably guess that I haven't written many letters. In fact, I haven't mailed a letter in years. I pay bills online. So...you got it right: I haven't pushed the envelope in years.

Should I get a pen pal? Or perhaps discuss the matter with a mailman? Mailmen push envelopes all day, right?
