I have started counting calories and my friend suggested that I fast breakfast and then start counting my calories for lunch, dinner, and snacks.

Has anyone tried this? I do not know if this is a good process or If I should eat a low-calorie breakfast.

Thoughts?? Please!

I did this once when I had difficulty staying within my calories. It takes time to get used to. I quit doing this when I became pregnant with my first child in mid-2019. Since then I've either been pregnant or breastfeeding so I haven't tried it again.

My advice is if you can't see yourself doing it for a lifetime then it might not be for you. Whatever you do to lose the weight is what you'll do to keep it off so make sure you are happy in your choices. You could always try it for a little while and if you find you are not enjoying it then add back in breakfast.

It's purely personal preference how you spread your calories over the day.

I skipped breakfast for around a year, because it left me more calories for dinner and an evening snack. And since I would be hungry well before noon, whether or not I ate breakfast, skipping breakfast wasn't a big deal to me.

After that I stayed eating breakfast again, because I noticed my protein intake was low, so I stayed eating a high protein breakfast. No change in my weight loss between both periods.

It's personal preference. If it helps you meet your calorie targets then fine...otherwise, there's nothing "magic" about skipping breakfast. Weight management comes down to overall calories and whether or not you're taking in less than your body requires, more than your body requires, or you're break even.
