So far, across the street. My oldest, with the little family, will be moving back across the landing when their apartment is restored. It breaks my heart. They have fantastic old marble floors that are 140 years old and in mint condition, with beautiful patterns. They don't want them and are going to put parquet down on top. No way to save the old floors for future (smarter?) folks. All the workmen coming to give estimates express wonder for those floors. Sigh--have to bite my tongue. Being a mother-in-law means being able to SHUTUP when necessary.

The other 2 are studying to be Notaios too. If they pass the Bar, they'll be sent elsewhere in Italy where needed. The newcomers don't get to choose their appointments, but can ask for a transfer after. So the numbers could go down at meals drastically in the future. I just have to go with the flow. It takes years of intense study to pass the Bar, and some never do. That's what I mean about being surrounded by Law experts, and you should hear the dinner table conversation.
