How do I create a unique barcode for each meal/recipe in my cookbook?

Options
Hi,

I'm creating a recipe book for my clients and I want to add barcodes to each recipe so that the user can scan them in MFP and the recipe pops up so they can log easily.

How do I go about doing this? I have seen many people do it inside of their recipe books but I have no clue how they are doing it. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I attached a few examples of some people already doing it.

I was curious about this, so I did a quick search. Try this. I’m interested to see if this works.

Pardon my limited technical skills, what is the purpose of creating a bar code? Where would it live? And how would I scan it in the app if I'm already using my phone to view it?

Trying to understand how this works and why you would do that rather than just creating a recipe and saving it to "my foods". Thanks in advance :)

Ooh, I'm intrigued by this as well!

The hardest part with using these bar codes is the variations in using different brands of ingredients in recipes. I would probably try to specify in each recipe which brand you are using as well. :)
