I just learned that strength training is a must for weight loss.
i live in a southern african country and dvds, gym membership and equipment are reaaaally expensive.
plus am a student
anybody know some sites with simple workouts that dont require much?!

    Push-ups, chin-ups, dips, lunges and crunches. All free and will build muscle.

    Just google it. Brings up some great sites. Youtube has some really good video too and can be done at home without equipment.

    There are a lot of videos of strength exercises that can be done using your own body weight and sometimes with commonly available props such as tables, chairs.

    This. Or you can also go to www.nerdfitness.com and click around to find some awesome bodyweight circuits. You don't have to buy ANYTHING to do strength training. You just might have to be a little more creative. Bicep curls with jugs of water, pull-ups under your dining table, tricep dips between two dining chairs -- you can get a great workout with just the stuff you have in your house.

    You get the internet so try "tabata" on YOU TUBE or any exercise and use water bottles or cans for weights.
    Also situps, pushups,Swimming and jogging don't require memberships at gyms.

    www.bodyrock.tv she has workouts which involve equipment but she shows you how to do the exercises without the equipment as well as giving a beginner level of the workout along with the advanced level.

    She gives variations on the workouts for people who dont have equipment or are beginners... So you dont have to have any equipment to do the workouts, and for the interval timer you can go download the app. it's called gymboss.
