100lb Difference!

I’ve been at this a long time (15 years) - and it’s so easy to forget where you started during the day to day of weight management. I’ve grown a lot in terms of my mindset and realizing what is and isn’t important in the journey. I spent a lot of time mucking about and once I just got down to business - everything fell into place.

The best lessons I’ve learned across this journey:

- Consistency is everything.
- You can’t out-train a bad diet.
- Life happens. Weight will come and go.
- Your excuses will always hold you back.
- We all have an internal dialogue.
- Change is hard.
- You have to commit to make magic happen.
- You can do it. <3

What’s important: the result of your effort.

What isn’t: everything else

Want someone to hang with on the app? Add me - I’m on here daily (2800+ days in a row!)

Sending you love and all the good vibes on your journey!

You look strong and amazing! Thank you for posting your incredible transformation. It takes me everything I got some days to not give up and keep trying. To see something beyond where I am currently and have faith in my efforts. This doesn't just happen quickly for some of us, it is a journey that takes time. Congrats!

The struggle feels endless and exhausting. Last time I did this the weight just fell off. Gained it back while on a nasty anti-anxiety drug and have been losing the same five lbs. for what seems like forever ever since. Go strong, fall off the wagon, repeat. This time I've managed only a 5 lbs. loss since pushing harder than I ever have before. It feels like I work so much harder for those 5 lbs. now and some days, I'm just so sick of what little progress I have to show.

Thank you for sharing your journey and the reminder that this really does take a lot of time. Absolutely amazing results! Here's to sticking with it!

You look amazing! You're right - mindset is everything. I've done this weight loss thing a few time, usually quit after a couple weeks. This time my attitude and outlook feels way different. I see myself as a fit athlete now. Love the gym, eating all the colors in the veggie aisle... It feels more permanent this time.

Did you have any issues with loose skin?

Thank you! You give me hope after losing 40 lbs the last 2 years, and I have at least 50 more to go. This is not easy at age 60! Especially with Afib and low thyroid. Going to the gym to lift heavy and doing cardio 5 days a week keeps me going. I refuse to let it beat me down. :)

You are glorious! I have as much to lose, and am in despair about it - now on a chemo drug that is known to add weight. After over a decade of battling cancer, my muscles have wasted. I miss being strong (though I was never as strong as you); being walker-weak is awful. You inspire me and give me hope that there is a light, and a life, at the end of the tunnel.

I remember those days all too well! One of my favourite sayings to keep myself accountable is: “how you do one thing is how you do everything.” It took me a really long time to really lean into that mindset and adapt - it takes time and it takes constant focus which in itself can be exhausting. It took me 18 months for the first 80lbs and then I backslid a bunch and then had to keep resetting. Change is hard - I manage change as a profession - and one of the things I help my clients with is incremental change.

One thing I might suggest is to try and just do one or two things super good for a few weeks, and then add something new in when that becomes a habit. (E.g: logging water every day; taking two 10 minute strolls). Easy quick wins really help us stay motivated and less overwhelmed!!

Hit me up if you ever want to talk or if there’s anything I can do to help! You can do this!! <3

Amazing Jen! Congratulations on the mindset shift!!

I didn’t have a ton of loose skin, fortunately (just a bit), but I did have severely prolapsed abdominal muscles. I opted to have a reconstructive surgery for that (which was six hours and included over 120 sutures internally!) I had no core strength because the muscles were just “all over the place” - it was a good decision for me - but a long recovery that felt endless and frustrating some days!

Oh goodness! Thank you for such beautiful words <3 I can understand why you feel the way you do. There is hope! Don’t forget to celebrate the small things - I’m sure some days it can be difficult to get up and about .. make sure you pay yourself on the back on the days that you do the hard stuff even when you don’t feel like it.

There is so much life ahead for you! I can tell because you have the vibrancy to have vision into the future - and that’s a beautiful thing. <3
