8 6-packs of diet coke for dh. There was a sale. :/ Oh and a package of Utz pretzels. Just because I could. :)

Interesting. What are the advantages of this thing @cwolfman13 ?

I ask because the SO makes his own jerky, more so now than ever because he has to be low carb, and I'm wondering if that might make a nice future gift as he generally likes kitchen gadgets. He invested quite a bit in sausage-making paraphernalia a few years ago.

A few things at the grocery store this a.m. because we might be snowed in this weekend. So Ben and Jerry's *had* to get bought. Emergency rations.

It's for making jerky with ground meat instead of whole muscle. Ground meat jerky has a different texture and is more tender and less chewy.

Thanks, that's helpful. I may look into one of these things.

Your husband likely knows this if he's made his own sausages, but when using ground meet it is generally recommended to cure it with Prague Powder...1/4 tsp per Lb. I know some people who don't, particularly if they grind their own, but I'm a better safe than sorry kinda guy.
