Lightly active vs not very active

If I am standing in one spot 8 to 10 hours a day would that be lightly active or not very active?

Treadmill for 20 minutes and then sedentary the rest of the time

I have looked briefly into standing desks vs. seated desks (for work) and basically it seems there isn't really big different between being seated or standing when it comes to energy expenditure.

Are you walking around at all?

I'd say go with Lightly Active and then see how that goes.

Your walking on the treadmill for 20 min per day should not be considered in your activity level for MFP --- that should be tracked in the cardiovascular exercise area, where the calories will be added to your daily goal.

EDIT - if you do that for like 4weeks or so and you do not see the results you expect, then you may need to change your activity level in MFP up or down depending on the data you get.

    Lightly active, log your exercise.

Assess and adjust after several weeks based on actual results.

Lightly active! Though, you are only standing, its not the same as sitting for 8-10 hours/ day. You burn more calories standing than you would 100% sedentary.

I would go with sedentary/not very active, log the treadmill as exercise (and eat those extra calories), and consider whether to adjust after a few weeks. Or see what it gives you not very active and lightly active, split the difference, and manually set your goal yourself.
