Just thought I'd share an "ah ha" moment I recently had. As I'm beginning my journey to a healthier lifestyle (and with it weight loss), I've discovered that the more I learn about the benefits of "healthy" foods, the more excited I am about making better choices.
Of course, everyone has heard of the benefits of antioxidants and omega fatty acids and the like, but what do you REALLY know about these buzz words? I didn't know much beyond "you should eat them." So, I decided to start doing my own research and my eyes are now open to a new world of healthy and delicious foods with an abundance of benefits to my long-term health. Foods that will not only help me with my weight loss, but will also allow me to reap the benefits for years to come.
So get out there and do your research!!!

Be careful while doing your research. Many websites are full of b.s. info. most just trying to sell or market a product. Look for peer reviewed journal articles. Personally, I start all my research searches at www.googlescholar.com

Thanks for the tip. I have been reading multiple sites on a topic in order to differentiate whats backed by research and what's just hearsay. I'll definitely check out that site.

and pubmed, which google scholar gets some from, but you can read abstracts on pubmed if the full study is behind a paywall

This. You can google HCG for example and have TONS of sellers and snake oil, but none have peer reviewed clinical studies (with the exception of the discoverer's).
