shredded chicken recipes needed

How do I make shredded chicken using my crockpot? Any recipes will be well appreciated! Also, looking for shredded chicken taco recipe

    For the taco one just throw in frozen chicken breast with a package of Chicken taco mix. about 6 hours and your done.

    also try throwing in some chicken breast with a bottle of barbeque sauce and a can of pineapple chunks. On low for about 6 or 7 hours. Eat on a bun or serve over rice. Yummy.

  • I use chili powder, cumin, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder for my taco seasoning with my shredded chicken. Sometimes I use those seasonings and add some diced tomatoes and use it as a filling for quesadillas too.

    I like to get the Ole foods Xtreme wellness tortillas. High fiber, low carb. They are 71 calories each, 220 mg sodium (lower than most tortillas), 12 g. fiber, and 8 g. protein. They're really soft and yummy too.


    *for shredded chicken, I usually cook a whole chicken (the crockpot's fine) and then pick all the meat and separate into equal portions and use in recipes. They freeze nicely.

    One of my favorites is to put in 2 chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, cook on low 4-6hrs. Last hour add a block of fat free or low fat cream cheese and a rinsed jar of black beans. Shred with 2 forks--yum!!!
    You can serve over rice as well or in a tortilla as well!
  • I found a new recipe and made it last Sunday. It was really yummy. Chicken taco chili.

    2-3 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless

    1 packet reduced sodium taco seasoning
    1 can black beans, rinsed
    1 can white beans, rinsed
    1 small minced onion
    2 c. frozen corn
    1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
    1 can reduced sodium chicken broth
    2 cans rotel tomatoes
    1 TBSP chili powder
    1 TBSP cumin
    1 TBSP garlic powder
    1/2 TBSP onion powder

    Combine all ingredients except chicken in crockpot. Mix well. Place chicken on top. Cover and cook on high six hours. Remove chicken, shred, and mix into chili. Cook a little longer on high temp. Serve over rice (I use brown), and top with fresh chopped cilantro, sour cream (optional), and reduced fat cheddar cheese (optional).
