Hello! It's spring here in Australia (although in Brisbane we seemed to have skipped spring and just went into Summer) and I turn 30 when it next turns Winter - so.. you know, better time than ever, right.

I probably need to lose a good 30 or so kilo, but I'll be content to see the 70s at the moment. I'm on a 2 week break from work and I'm at 92kg, so I'm hoping I'll be in the 80s to start work again :)

Anyhoo, my name's Nikki.. I have a rough plan and I love thing kind of calorie-counter+forum set up, I had great success many years ago using the same system (only without my trusty phone to help me out and about)

In the next two weeks I plan to..
Avoid soft-drink in the house (sipping in mineral water instead)
Cook every meal.
Not get any food from a place that has a drive through.
Exercise at LEAST 8 days of the fortnight.. hopefully 10. :)

I love to run, well, plod slowly and call it run.. so that's my main exercise. Maybe by this time next year I can do the Bridge to Brisbane 10k run!

Cheers!
Nikki

    Hi Nikki,

Welcome to MFP, this is a great site and everyone is very friendly and supportive, if you have a smart phone like an iPhone then download the free app for MFP too if you haven't already,

I want winter back the past few days have been horrible with the heat, thankfully it was humid with it, I am on the Gold Coast

good luck with your weight loss journey

Thanks for the warm welcome and for the friends who've added me, I can see how it can keep you motivated and accountable. :)

I do have a smartphone (Android type) so I have the app! I wish it would synch with Runkeeper (or rather, that runkeeper would synch with MFP) but oh well! :)

I'm a bit opposite to you, Nette, I love the warm.. and the brightness in the morning. Number 1 motivation killer for me is waking up to exercise in the dark.. (I can't exercise in the arvo/night.. I'm a morning person) I'm sure I'll be complaining about the heat soon though!
