Something major and unexpected

I started my weight loss journey this time around on Jan 1. The first six weeks or so were exceptionally difficult- my appetite was all over the place, I had a major autoimmune flare up, and I was struggling to keep up with work plus workouts plus side hobbies, eating right, and home obligations. It was a lot, and it took a great deal of muscling through to continue.
Fast forward to today, 4 1/2 months in and 20 lbs down, and I’ve realized something huge. My anxiety, something I’ve struggled with for many years which has been debilitating in the past, is quiet. I’m not stressing and worrying and freaking out like I used to. My social anxiety is better, and I’m not losing my sheeeet every time something goes wrong. I’m not sure if it’s physiological, psychological, or some combo of the two, but it’s working and I Am Here For It.
I am about halfway to my goal, and I KNOW that I will make it to maintenance this time. The greatest side effect I didn’t expect was to feel at peace.

That's awesome! Congratulations on sticking with it.
I have noticed the same thing about myself. For me, I think the regular exercise really keeps the anxiety in check. Maybe that's what is helping you too? Either way, it is a fabulous result. Again, congrats!1 -
Thank you everyone for your kindness and support! It is much appreciated.
@dralicephd I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. My daily workouts keep me level. Even when I have a rest day, I tend to walk or do some light spin. (I have a bike at home.) My mind always feels calm after.2 -
I love that feeling when you just know you've got it this time! I feel this too. There's no, "I think I've got this" in there. It's a solid, I KNOW I got this. That's when you totally have this thing by the horns. I got this too. 10 pounds down. 30 more to go...maybe 40 eventually 🤔3
