Do you use a waterproof HRM or somethng along those lines? Swimming is my main exercise and I wanted to be able to correctly track the cals and how hard I am working. Does anyone have a good one that they can reccomend (that won't break the bank).

Thanks

If your pool is 25 meters. multiple that with how many times you do laps. Then go to the website below and punch the the meter number. That will give you how many miles / kms you did.

    Thanks.

Sorry I misread. I thought you wanted to know for miles.

I have the Timex T5G971 Unisex Sports Personal Heart Rate Monitor Watch. It is pretty cheap and I use it while I swim. It seems to be pretty accurate. I bought it from Amazon.com. The manual warns not to push buttons under water.

I have a Polar FT7 and the manual says it's waterproof (as long as you don't press the buttons underwater). haven't tried it out though.

I have a Polar FT4 HRM that is "water resistant". It has a chest strap and watch. I regularly wear it swimming for 30+ minutes at a time and it always works perfectly. The only "warning" they give you is not to push any of the buttons on the watch while you're underwater.

My Suunto doesnt transmit through water, but they do make a chest strap that stores the data until you download it to a computer... might be worth looking into.

It's more about how vigourous I am. working out length etc won't be accurate unless i keep at the same pace the whole time, which I don't at the minute. Thanks though. That link is great.
