sore knees

any advice for sore knee joints. I noticed the last couple of days I have been experiencing sore knees and have avoided any lunging, squats or high impact on the knees. I only did some yoga and pilates yesterday- I don't want to make things worse and want to continue to push myself with cardio and weights, any advice for relief?

Agree... But , also give it a few days to give your knees time to rest. If you have not exercised in a long time or recently increased the level of exercise, you may have to work up to it the new level a little more slowly to allow your body to adjust.0 -
I've been dealing with sore knees also, I use ice or heat to help...but more so giving them rest when needed. I switched from running to using my elliptical machine. It has helped tremendously. Hope yours feel better soon :flowerforyou:0

may be a dumb question- but what can a dr tell me that I don't already know? I have been exercising 5-6 days a week moderate to intense and I expected to be sore. I didn't try heat-I did do some ice- I guess I just need to slow down a bit?0

could be your shoes. I have flat feet and uneven hips, and i bought a new pair of running shoes...the ones that are super lightweight and flexible...and they killed my knees because i had no shock absorption.0

Doctors have access to a array of medical tests that can tell a lot more than you can just by having sore knees. Also, make sure that you are doing squats and lunges correctly as they should not put a lot of stress on your knees when done correctly. If you go to a gym as for instruction there, if not your doctor might be able to help or you can find the information on the the internet.0 -
You should take fish oil pills. It is supposed to help with immflamation. I read something about it in runners world, the guy said he took fish oil the whole time he was training for a marathon and it he didn't get sore. I also heard eating spinach and cherries together is good.0

bummer because I just bought a new pair and yes I have flat feet- but figured that would help. I will have to ask around -talk to my dr, etc. thanks0
