THIS made me laugh. I would have asked how they feel about shoveling snow in sub zero temps for 9 months of the year. All those folks from Texas and California aren't used to that. Cowboy wanabees.

Anyhoo. I'm swamped with e-mails from friends and family. I have so many. Usually I spend 3 weeks to a month home making the rounds visiting. I'm always amazed that people like me so much. They get all excited that I'm coming home. I have college friends, work friends, and family (my Mom and Dad each had 9 siblings). Many aunts and uncles are dead now, but I have hundreds of cousins. Family and friends are treasures and we have ties through the years and many difficulties. This time I'm restricted since Mom won't travel well. Everyone is prepared to come to the farm. Mom is all excited. She thinks I'm going to be driving her to visit everywhere as usual. Sigh. I haven't driven for 3 years.

@snowflake954 How's your Italian accent. Do you shake it off when you're around your family or how does that work. Do your folkaronies have you teach them some phrases. I'm already thinking about the dishes around the Ponderosa. I'm thinking they may surprise you when you get home and have everything spotless.

Does anyone ever do a little boxing, fist-ta-cuffin' out in the front yard over recipes. I've seen it. No hair pulling but hurt feelers because they won't share secret family recipes or they leave out one ingredient.

We've had more than two family reunions completely ruined over recipes. Everyone gets huffy, loads UP and goes home.
