On a kitchen scale in grams if that's what you are asking?

    Eating out....
Depends to a large degree how often you go out to eat. If it's rare inaccuracies don't have the power to significantly derail your progress.
If losing weight is a "game" of thousands of calories it takes a lot of hundreds to impact the overall numbers in a significant way. And with estimating some estimates (or even guesses) may be low and some may be high.
Plus there is the feedback loop of progress over an extended period of time - being consistent and making adjustments based on results works too.

Definitely get a scale. I measure in grams. As for eating out, most restaurants have the nutritional information on their website. How accurate or truthful they are is a guess. Lol
