A jackhammer being used on my front porch by the crew that's preparing to do some foundation work on my home. Not a pleasant sound for the ears, but it is necessary.

Fireworks going off around the area. They're illegal to set off in our city limits without a special permit (which is sometimes issued for a public fireworks show), but that doesn't keep people from setting them off anyway.

At least it has rained here recently, so maybe we won't have any wildfires set off like what usually happens around July 4.
