p90x or insanity

so i've been wanting to buy some vids that can actually help me burn calories & loose weight along with a diet. my friends recommended p90x or insanity. has anyone tried them? if so what do you think? or is there any other videos that you think might be able to help me?? thank you in advanced =]

    Just my opinions:
    P90X - Not so much fat loss but building lean muscle. I'd wait until you lost a good about of body weight (that's my plan with Chalean Extreme)
    Insanity - Great for fat loss, muscle building if you are already lean. I'd do this first (again, my plan but with Turbo Fire).

    insanity is the way to go to lose weight. I noticed it within the first couple weeks. p90x is great for building muscle!

    I've done both and loved them both...they're challenging and you'll be sore (depending on what you do now).

    They key with those programs is they come from very different philosophies, so it will depend on which one fits you better (and, for P90X, what kind of equipment you have).

    P90X is more about building lean muscle as a way of losing fat. In the classic version you have three strength workouts per week with three more cardio-style workouts which are fun and hard (yoga, kenpo, plyometrics). You'll need to have a variety of weights, etc in order to do it correctly and get results. They're great workouts and your muscles never get used to them...you also get toned all over your body.

    Insanity is cardio, cardio, cardio. You sweat bullets during and are exhausted afterwards. It is not for the faint of heart or for the person with bad joints....BUT you blast calories and get in really good cardio shape. Your arms won't get as toned with insanity, but they do get a little toned and your legs will get REALLY toned.

    Both programs come with an eating plan.

    I haven't done any other programs so can't help with any more answers, but hope that helps!
  • I have P90X, Insanity & Turbo Fire. Just keep in mind to get amazing results you have to eat a good diet. If you eat only junk you'll be disappointed, you'll be stronger but won't get the results you want; if you eat so-so good, you'll get so-so results.

    If you are strictly looking to burn fat go for Insanity. If you are into lifting barbells and want to lose weight and firm up go for P90X. If you want to do something more girlie and are patient go for Turbo Fire. TF is fun but it takes time learning the choreography and terminology used.

    I live and love P90X... Lost 20lbs a year ago with it... and now going for another round to get the last 15 off. I noticed results in 2 weeks! I am now adding Brazil Butt Lift because I could use a little lift.... its quick and you do TONS of lunges/squats but sweat like he!!..... Wish you the best!
