should you take a rest day in between workouts and if so how often? i have been working out everyday with no rest day for about two months. is this bad for my body? somedays i do not feel like working out but i push myself to do it anyway and i feel better afterwards. i workout in the mornings but when i wake up my body aches for the first 10min i wake up then when i get moving around it goes away. what do you think or do?

I always do better if I work out right away. I also do not take a full rest day, I try to do a little every day. I don't do weight training every day either, but only like three to four times a week.0

I take a rest day twice a week - on Friday's and Sunday's. My undergrad degree is in Kinesiology, and when we were in school - they always told us as long as you are not working out the same muscle groups, you don't need to take a day off between workouts.0

As long as you are feeding your body properly you don't need rest days. What you do need to do is to rest muscle groups. If you work your legs one day, don't work them again for at least 48 hours. You can do other activities while resting that muscle group, so those muscles get rest days even if you don't.0

it all depends on intensity of workouts...0

I tend to alternate gym days with walking days. Works for me.
You shouldn't exercise the same muscles every day, it's counter productive. The body needs time to heal, repair and increase muscle mass if needed.0 -
I also rest on Fridays and Sundays. It has less to do with my body and more to do with my schedule, but I do find that most times it helps me. The hardest part is staying under my calories the days I dont exercise. I think its mostly a personal preference.0

i always take a rest day, usually sunday. i LOVE going to the gym, but the child care is closed that day, we love to watch football on t.v. and that is a day we spend time with famiily. i think there are somethings that have to be prioritized, so that is how i chose a day "off."
i work-out about 6 days per week. i do weight-lifting (diff muscle group each day) for about 4/5 days per week and cardio 5/6 days per week. sometimes i end up taking off tuesdays too b/c of my schedule.
i guess each person is different, but i've always heard that rest is as important as the actual working-out.0 -
I do - one day or two days a week if necessary. My main form of exercising is running - my body will not let me run five or six miles seven days a week. So I run three, maybe four days a week, do videos and ride a bike to alternate. I also know from experience that my body needs one day a week where I don't do anything excessive. Rest days are just as important as high-intensity workouts.0
