Totally F'd Up Yesterday!

 So I just joined three days ago and was doing pretty well and then yesterday I thought I would have some subway because I've seen the commercials saying it's so good for you. So for dinner I got a foot long on the oat bread, only veggies, provolone and the fat free honey mustard and the dinner came to 630 calories! Apparently the bread alone is 500 calories! I couldn't belive it. So that dinner put me over my caloric limit by 300 calories! So now I feel like I shouldn't even eat today to make up for that. But I know that's not healthy but it's just frustrating! That is the good thing about this site though because it told me exactly how many calories there were and I could see that it was too much. So now I know if I want to get some subway I need to plan my day around it and make sure I have enough calories left to use.

Did you eat the whole foot long?
You can cut it in have an deat half the foot long and eat the other half the next day.
Eat a piece of friut with it as well. I believe then it should be better then the 630 calories it was. I know alot of people that eat subway all the time.
Hope this helps.

You could have exercised after to burn more calories0

ya, all of those commercial stats about fat grams and calories are referring to a 6in sub with no cheese and no sauce.0

The cheese and honey mustard killed you. Fat free is not calorie free. Next time, skip the cheese and go with spicy mustard. Nearly half the cals are in those 2 items. Cheese is 120 cals, Honey mustard is 60 cals per tablespoon. And Subway goes overboard with the application of sauces!0

Don't even sweat it!! It's not going to effect your overall loss by having ONE day of an overage so don't beat yourself up.
This past weekend, I was away and I lost all my senses ... ate everything that wasn't nailed down at an "all you can eat" breakfast buffet Saturday morning .. didn't exercise for 4 days ... and just gave up almost for a few days!
My weigh in was today .. i wasn't even going to do it because I had about 3 bad days of eating, all included being WAY over ... no treadmill ...
And I didn't gain anything .. in fact, I appear to have lost 0.6 lbs.
(I never really counted those numbers after the decimal until this day too .. )

I used to do the same thing . . . think I am eating something healthy and it is soooo many calories. Try putting in what you are going to eat for the day ahead of time so that if your over 200 for dinner you can either go for a walk at lunch or take out that sandwich for lunch and have a salad . . . play with your menus for the day before actually eating anything so you know your limits. Hope this helps, I ate the kids hickory sticks last night :grumble: (just a few bites). Your still learning, so take it as a lesson and plan better!!! Have a great day.
See you LIGHTER! :happy:0 -
Best thing to do in my humble opinion is always buy the six inch. It's just enough and if you still have more calories to eat then choose a nutritious option like fruit or veg. We really don't need more than a sandwich the size of a six inch for a meal, especially when paired with a drink and fruit. It's a mental thing that's one of the many things to get over during this lifestyle change.
Don't worry it's in the past now. All you can do is better manage your choices going forward.
All the best!

Don't be too hard on yourself and don't make up for it today...just start over as if nothing happened.
One thing I do is log my meals in before I eat them. That way, you can make substitutions if an item doesn't fit in your plan. I've gotten some real surprises like you when I logged something in, but at least I could hit the remove button since I hadn't eaten it yet. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding! :flowerforyou:0 -
Some suggestions:
1...don't believe commercials or advertising in general. They try to suck people in with the words "natural" "healthy" etc.
2....you had a lapse...no big deal....don't take it out on yourself the next day....each day is a new day!
3...avoid bread.....I eat roasted turkey with spinach as the "bread" or go for a wheat tortilla wrap.
4....you CAN do it! Even with moments of splurging or whatever....you CAN do this!!!
and you didn't totally F up.....your body will recover.....its not like you binged all day!
5. Good luck and Happy Health!
