Does anyone know why my hands get cold when I jog? It's not weather related, because I'm inside on my treadmill.

Are they just cold? Or do they turn colors, like white or purple? Does it happen at other times?

Mine get hot, but I think blood rushes to them for some reason...?!?!
  • They're probably getting cold from blood rushing to your other extremities. I think it's also a sign of fat burning. Are you doing cardio in a fasted (non-fed) state? I'd be the same way doing light/moderate cardio in a fasted state or after being depleted from weight training.

    Vasoconstriction !

Your working muscles needs a lot of oxygen to work that hard and, to carry them that oxygen, it needs to bring up as much blood as possible there ... so your vessels are constricting to your extremities to keep the most of your blood for your needing muscles. Blood also carry warmth to your extremities, so less blood mean you are colder there... Add some adrenaline to all the process and you definatly get vasoconstriction .. It's normal and a natural survival machanism of your body ! I suggest Gloves !

Though if it happens on littles efforts or if your extremities gets white or blueish, I would talk to a doctor... Some pathology could be related, such as Raynaud syndrome...

    Good luck ! ;)
