Okay - here we go

I'm a bit nervous, but decided I need some support in this endeavor. I'm new here today. I have some difficult circumstances. I weighed 150 pounds just a year and a half ago. Due to an ongoing illness that effected my metabolism, I put on 50 pounds in three months. I'm still struggling with the condition and have recently crept up to 215 pounds - I've NEVER been close to this weight. My doctor has suggested that I document my weight loss attempts. It looks like I'll be going to Mayo clinic and this could be useful info. I am frustrated and worried that I won't lose weight. I have some HUGE incentives right now - this summer I am going to Japan for two weeks. There aren't many people my size in Japan. Also, my oldest son is getting married this summer. I really want to be fit and have energy for this time!! I'm going to be praying the whole way through!

Participate in the boards, track every morsel that goes into your mouth, drink your water and try to get those exercises in and you'll do great. :drinker:0 -
Thanks for the encouragement. Do you have any FUN exercise ideas? I love to ride my recumbent, but where I live the weather isn't cooperating.0

Oh, I hate exercise, but I have found ways to make it fun! I do pilates, which I love. I htink of it as 'yoga that burns more calories' and its fantastic for your core. Its relaxing, helps you gain flexibility and you can turn the sound off on your TV after the first few times and listen to calm music.
I also love dance videos! I used to bellydance in Ren Faires so I do that. I want to take up something a little more high intensity though, like salsa! I've never thought about how out of breath and miserable I was when dancing! :drinker: :bigsmile:0 -
I love to dance. Thanks for the ideas. I should probably look for some new tapes. I use to do Leslie Sansone's walking programs and should probably get back to that, too. Actually, there is a picture of me in her book "Walk the Walk." I should probably post that picture for incentive, too!0
