Hi friends, Thanks for your kind wedding wishes. Our wedding day was simply perfect!

This week, we are staying home for our honeymoon but incorporating activity in each day. We've been on a long bike ride (14 miles), hiking in the woods and today, we are going kayaking!

I feel like the pressure of the wedding has dissipated so now I must get down to healthy eating. And that means no alcohol- such a calories waster!

I had an eye exam yesterday and was relieved he said your eyes are healthy- no diabetes signs, etc.

    Hi Friends,
10 more days until our challenge is over! Let's make these last 10 days a success!!

That went by so fast!! Do you think you will be starting another new challenge thread for the next 3 months?

Yes, I will start a new thread in a week and post it. Even though as your "leader" I have not done well on this challenge, I can only keep trying and hope it clicks. I love reading all your posts.

July 11…..195.6…..(Trend Weight: 201.8)….. Yep, got covid diagnosis. So this is a bit tricky right now. I went over calories in the red by 45 calories last night for the day, so before closing out I did some mild exercise that would not greatly affect my covid symptoms. I did a 6 minute slow walk around my rural back yard and then I did some stretching inside so I could get back in the green. I’m following my diet very well. Scale is catching up to efforts I think. No waterpill yesterday but still a drop. It’s funny……you get Covid and EVERYONE runs for the hills (as they should). But without all that influence, no daughter bringing home treats, no friend inviting you to dinner, no travel that includes restaurants, no holiday meals or social invites, no shopping for treats for grandson that you poke at too, etc. etc. it’s amazing how much faster you lose weight. If I had no social life…….. well, no, that would not be better I suppose. Anyway, clearly I’ve learned the meal prep, planning secrets, etc. Clearly I’ve learned what’s expected of me. It’s my response to the holidays, the social gatherings, etc. that are my weakness. I am stronger than I think when I’m locked in a box full of food and no one is here, but knowledge is power and I know I need to be just as strong when I’m with people who eat, eat eat.

July 18…..200.8…..(Trend Weight: 200.2)….. WTH? Goodbye Onederland! I was under calorie and carb again yesterday which has been steady success every single day for over a week. A very high calorie burn for the day. Macros were good but sodium showed a little high due to a frozen dinner. I have not eaten back any caiories. Feeling pretty good. Still a bit of a cough but testing negative finally for the Covid virus. I still don’t get it. Especially since the gains have been higher than the original whoosh after testing positive for Covid. This is not a plateau, it’s a steady gain for no apparent reason. My original whoosh after diagnosis I felt was based on how perfectly I was sticking to plan but apparently not. I’m really starting to feel sorry for myself and that usually does not lead me to a very good place.

July 25…..203.2…..(Trend Weight: 200.2)….. Over 3 ½ pound gain overnight? Yikes! Tons of sodium yesterday in all 3 meals/travel. I took a magnesium supplement last night because of the bloat, so this weight is after a TMI (finally). I honestly don’t know what is going on with anything since covid. The glucose is wonky, the weight has been wonky and my blood pressure is wonky. They’ve even taken me off all my BP meds because it’s running dangerously low since Covid. Who knows what other things would show in bloodwork? Long Covid is real folks and I may be experiencing it according to the doctor. Ugh! So last week was a 5.2 pound gain, and now this week is a 2.4 pound gain. That is 7.6 pound gained in the last two weeks! And I have been dieting pretty consistently and certainly increasing exercise! I Travel again this week tomorrow and Thursday so I may post extra early or extra late. Tomorrow is the CTA test on the heart at the hospital. This will look for blockages in the heart and is in lieu of a heart cath which is more invasive. Thurs I see cardiologist for the results of all this testing this past month, and the plan. I am enjoying all of your posts and love to see the successes!
