I need ideas

Well ive been bad. I havent logged on in a few days. Its been hard but i've been eating good. But it s to hard to log in what I eat when I work in a restaurant. Im around food all day n I pick at almost everything somedays. I mean they feed us a family meal but its never the same and its just someone creation and its never the same person, so im never really sure whats inside the meal. To make it more worse I'm a pastry cook so I'm around sweets all night. Ughh, I need help.

pack your own food from home and stop eating at work completely. I know it sucks and it costs more and it's just not what you want to hear.. but that might be what you need to do.0

Try not to pick here and there. I do that at home a lot and it really adds up. I try and chew a wintergreen piece of gum like Stride. When I have that taste in my mouth, nothing is going to taste good. If you have to test food you are cooking, take a small bite and then spit it out. That helps me when I do my excessive holiday baking.0

-I've brought my own meals before and it does cost more which is something I cant do. I live on my own so it a struggle but a challenge as well.

Funny to stumble across your post today! I am going to be brutally honest here. I am a pastry chef and i too find it tough to avoid staff meal and the constant food around me. My whole life revolves around food! A career change is not what is necessary. I could not, nor would i, ever consider changing my passion because i can't get myself under control.
There honest truth is, if this were easy, you would be a your goal weight already. Not picking at the dessert scraps is a challenge. Not picking at the food scraps is a challenge. Coming up with new things to eat that are cheap is a challenge. But the good thing is, we are all doing this challenge together. Bringing your own food to work is key. I'm planning on cooking on my day off and having enough leftovers to being dinner to work for the next few days. There are websites that offer ideas on how to cook one thing and make something different out of it so you don't get bored.
Also, exercise is key. You are eventually going to have to taste your food. Taste your chefs food so you know if its made properly when you go to serve it. The only way to counter balance the additional calories is to burn them off. It sucks. There is no way to avoid it though. If we want to keep our jobs, we have to do some additional work. Additional sacrifices. But think about the long run...how amazing are you going to feel about yourself when you lose weight, while working in a restaurant! Not only will you look great, you will feel an amazing sense of accomplishment as well.

I think these are the best ideas!! Just remember that 'the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.' That's what I tell myself when I find it hard to change my old ways!
