Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site and it seems that it's a great tool for keeping track of calories, exercise and progress! I want to lose 34 lbs the healthy way, through eating healthy and exercising. I had a wake up call on the weekend when I stepped on the scale and saw a number I really wasn't expecting. Also I've been feeling sluggish and not happy about not fitting into my clothes anymore. Ahhh what happened?!
How are you doing on your journey? Do you have any tips or advice?
My fiance and I are getting married this December... I don't necessarily expect to lose all the weight by then, but I would like to have put a significant dent in that number and feel great on our special day.
My main motivations to lose weight are to feel great and have more energy. I must say I'm pretty excited!

  • Hey there. I have been on MFP since July 4th weekend and am finally starting to lose. YES!!! My weight kind of snuck up on me, too. It felt like one day I needed to buy jeans in a bigger size but I don't want to do that. It has been frustrating at times but if you keep the end result in mind and don't give up, you can do it. I log into MFP every day for motivation from people that are in the same boat as me. I also started doing Turbo Fire when just counting calories wasn't working fast enough for me and I feel so much better. I feel like I'm on the right path to where I want to be. Stay excited!
  • Thanks riskqueen! I'm happy to hear that you are losing... I'm very optimistic about this and ready (finally) to make a change! And yes it really did sneak up on me. I feel like I'm going to be hooked on this site, I've already been on it a few hours today just checking everyting out... and I was so happy to get your response!
What is Turbo Fire? It sounds exciting...
    Thanks again!
  • If you've heard of P90x, Turbo Fire is by the same people but it's geared more towards women. My engaged friend got me into it because she has lost quite a few inches. It's high intensity cardio and I'm hooked! It's kind of like dance/boxing and jumping around and it's a lot of fun. I am getting a body bugg for Christmas to find out how many calories it really burns for me but it's supposed to be over 500 for most of the classes. At first, I didn't think I could do it because I couldn't breathe but by just the third day I was way into it. I've done 5 weeks now and my clothes are fitting better. I had some jeans that I could barely zip up and now they are comfortable. I'm not gonna lie, it's tough but I was so frustrated with not losing any weight that I was willing to do almost anything. It does make me hungry though so I just have to make sure I have plenty of healthy snacks.
