I see a lot of people say that they burn anywhere from 600-1000 calories per day or more! There is only so much time in the day so I am wondering what everyone is doing to burn so many calories. I am happy if I get an hour in and burn about 500 calories. Please share your secrets so I can burn more calories too!!! Thanks!

Well I can burn an easy 550 in a spinning class at lunch, and then do an Insanity video when I get home and burn another 550. Easy 1100 calorie burn for the day.0

I run about 35-40 minutes, plus do a warm up and cool down walk of 5 min each and burn about 500 calories.0

Top I have burned in 56 minutes was 1030.
Zumba
The amount you burn also depends on your size. A friend that is currently in maintenance mode does Zumba with me - she works out harder - but because of the difference in our size - she burns less calories.0 -
I do this machine at Planet Fitness called the ARC. I do that for 60mins and burn close to 1000.0

It can depend on your weight on how much you burn also. I burn less during a work out than many because I am 5'2" 120 pounds. A good 60 minute workout with strengthening and running and I burn around 400.0

get a heart rate moniter and do seriously intense cardio. I started running and lifting weights. If I keep my heart rate in the mid 170's and run for a half hour, then lift weights vigerously for 30 minutes, then light jog and walk to cool down, I burn 1200 in 75-90 minutes0

Can burn more than 900 in an hour of Turbo Jam!0

I burnt close to 2500 calories both Saturday and Sunday of this past week refereeing soccer. Of course that was 250 minutes each day of running up and down a soccer field. In an hour depending on your weight and workout intensity you should be able to get anywhere from 500-800 calories on machines and even more if you go out and run.0

Turbo Kick or Turbo Fire will get the calories burning pretty quick0

Doing identical exercises, a heavier person will burn more calories than a lighter person. Some people that get the big burns work out a LOT, others are burning more because they still have more to lose. If you want to burn more, either workout more or gain weight.0

I do P90X Double Routine, so that's two workouts, of 60 min each, most days. Each workout is 500-700 calories burned using my HRM. I also add extra hand and leg weights into many of the cardio routine (evening workout). Some days I sub Billy Blanks Ultimate Bootcamp instead as my evening routine, which is 600-700 calories.
So those both give me 1000 or more calorie burn a day.0 -
Interval training will burn way more than any kind of steady-state cardio.
I used to do 40 min on the elliptical and would burn around 250 calories, now doing intervals on the elliptical for 20 minutes I burn around 350.0 -
Calories burned are calculated on several factors. So keep that in mind.
For me, I've found another reason to love tennis. Playing for 90 minutes, "General Tennis" will give me about 1,190. If I play a match of single's tennis, its more.
Once had a match last season that had a lot of deuce points and went on for three sets. Almost three hours of single's tennis. Burned more than 2K calories.
Time flies when you're playing.0 -
I have that same problem and have wondered how people can burn so many calories in one day. I usually burn from 300 (for weight training) to 500 (for running) depending on how long I work out and what I do. I work out for 60-90 minutes in the morning starting at 4:30am. I work full time and have a 2 1/2 year old son so I really don't have the time to add another work out in the PM. I used to get all upset about this then I realized that what I'm doing works for me. I'm loosing 1 to 2 lbs weekly and I feel good. But most of all it fits my life and my schedule and since this is something I'll be doing for the rest of my life I'm going to stop being so worried about what everyone else is doing and just concentrate on my weight loss goals. I felt alot better about things after that. If what your doing works for you then just keep going. Don't worry about others, everyone is so different- body size, lifestyle and goals. Just find what works for you and do it.0

Is this based on a heart rate monitor? I think you might find the total to be lower if you used one.0 -
