HELP

Can someone describe the numbers to me? i'm trying to lose weight but im either going over or under :s

    Do you mean your calories limit, or the other things you can track like carbs, sugar, fat, fiber, etc? You’ll probably almost never hit your calorie goal exactly… I try to aim to be under as much as possible. The other numbers… I mostly just ignore. I try to at least get close to my protein goal, but other than that I just care about the calories. Lately I’ve lost about 11 lb in the past 3 months. You can do this.

    Have you followed the guided set-up to get your calorie goal?
    If you're having trouble hitting your goal precisely:
    - don't worry too much, it's not necessary to hit the number exactly, 50 calories over or under is fine too
    - even if you're going over or under by bigger numbers, it isn't necessarily bad either. Your body doesn't reset at midnight, you can look at your weekly average instead of looking at your daily intake. There is even a weekly view in the app when you tap on the little pie chart icon at the top:

    Oops sorry! I wasn’t clear…
    I mean.. what number should I watch in the case of eating like negative net calories to lose weight etc ? Or watching the remaining number?
    It’s all so confusing and I’m drawing a blank even though I’ve been using MFP for ages haha

    That big number on your home page (browser version) that says "calories remaining" - that is the number of calories available to eat to meet your daily calorie goal.

    The big number that says xxxx remaining on the home page of your Android app - ditto.

    Assume it's the same on iOS too.

    No interpretation is really required, "calories remaining" has done the maths for you.

    Like they've said, calories remaining are the calories you have available to eat. They show the equation
    ____ - ______=_____ on you homepage. The "answer" to that equation is your remaining calories you can eat.
